It is valuable to analyze first to WHOM and WHY the development target is important \u2013 before any further actions are to be taken. to analyse WHAT this means. The motivation view diagram makes visible the reason(s) of the development target: what is the customer and\/or business value add of this development target we are going to develop. The\u00a0<em><strong>Goal-Driven Approach (GDA)<\/strong><\/em> starts with defining the goals by utlizing the <strong>Goals View<\/strong> diagram type, which consists of ArchiMate Motivation -elements. These elements can be used for asking questions related to goals\u2026<\/p>\n<h3>Goals View Diagram \u2013 For Analyzing the \u201cWHY\u201d<\/h3>\n<p>The Goals View diagram represents the meaning and value of a development target.\u00a0Motivation analysis (or Stakeholder Analysis) can be done to any development target such as\u00a0new service, digitalization plan, business domain area, business transformation, procurement, project etc.<\/p>\n<p>Questions that can be answered and be modeled by utilizing the <em>Motivation View<\/em> diagram are as follows:<br \/>\n\u2013 To WHOM this development target is important, who are interested in this, who have some concerns related to this (stakeholders)?<br \/>\n\u2013 WHY this is important, what are the reasons for some change to be made (drivers)?<br \/>\n\u2013 WHAT are we trying to achieve (goals)?<br \/>\n\u2013 HOW the results can be measured (outcomes), what\u00a0are the principles and constraints related to this?<br \/>\n\u2013 What all this means in practice, WITH WHAT building blocks this con be realized (e.g. new capability, business service, application service etc.)?<\/p>\n<p>This Goals View (figure below) diagram type can be applied when analyzing the goals of a development target. This view consists of ArchiMate Motivation -elements.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2681\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2681\" style=\"width: 848px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a core element.<\/p>\n<p>The HOW can be further analyzed and modelled with ArchiMate Strategy-elements, for analyzing the actions to be taken \u2013 the \u201ccourse of actions\u201d.<\/p>\n<h3>Goals diagrams that can be related to a development target.
